Michelle let me take her into the Tampa wilderness late at night and take photos in the absolute darkness. I felt bad for blinding her, but she was an awesome sport even when creepy animals tried to interfere with our shoot.
So for a long time I had pretty much retired the fox. It had served its purpose entirely and I don’t really feel the need to shoot photos with it anymore for Journey To the End of The Night.
It was half retired because once upon a time I took it up to a gallery for a solo show in Harrisburg, and then just never brought it back, and half for the aforementioned reasons. The fox is still retired have no fear, as I’m sure many of you have tired of seeing the damn thing, but as I am starting a new photo series I figured I would bring it back one more time. I’m not entirely sure where I plan on taking this, but its going to be called the howl, and I will probably be shooting for it a good bit over the next couple years especially as I begin to feel Journey to the End of the Night is finished.
For anyone that hasn’t noticed nearly all of my bodies of works are named for other books or poems that have inspired them. I’ve always wanted to be able to make images that remind me of how I felt as I read something, its one of the things that motivates me to keep picking up a camera.
